Bedo welcomed Denis Gagnon

Denis Gagnon for BEDO
After the success of his Spring/Summer 2010 Collection at the Montreal Fashion week a few months ago, it was with great enthusiasm Bedo announced an exclusive collaboration with Mr. Gagnon to create a private label for the store inspired by his zipper texture and soft delicate fabric that became his signature pattern. The good news was that the prices would cater to the regular Bedo customer who wished to hold a Gagnon in the closet. The collection currently still available in Bedo store are truly brilliant and deliver all expectations one might have for the designer. A lot of the items have sold out, nonetheless a few very beautiful pieces are still available with quite reasonable prices....given it's a Denis Gagnon of course. If you happen to be a big a fan, don't waste any more time hesitating.

MTV VMA's 2010

Lady Gaga dressed in Armani
The 2010 MTV VMA's was held in Los Angeles, California and it pretty much all revolved around Lady Gaga, as much for her outstanding 13 nominations as for the very Gaga outfits she became known for. In fact, her selection of creative wear did not disappoint even the most insensitive eye. The jaw-dropping outfit came when she appeared on stage fully dresses in meat, and by meat I mean raw meat. However, as diplomatic as Gaga always is, the animal lover did not use real meat as was speculated but rather had the dress designed by Frank Fernandez and is all 100% fake. As for the winners of the evening, Gaga took 8 out of her 13 nominations home. Here is the list of the wins :

Montreal Fashion Week - September 27th-30th

Montreal Fashion Week which occurs twice a year is coming up in September, more specifically September 27th to 30th in the Old Port at the Bonsecour Market. The actual schedule of designers to be showcasing has yet to be published on the official website however the regular established Montreal designers are sure to be present for the Spring/Summer 2011 Collections.

The Montreal Fashion Week is a great opportunity to discover Montreal's creativity in the fashion industry however I noticed that it's very limited to the media, buyers and fashion editors which I sometimes find a little unfortunate as it's the everyday consumer that will automatically become the best brand ambassador. That being said, I remember a few years ago there was one day offered to the public to view a few collections if you purchased your ticket on the official website. I did and had a wonderful time and can confirm that tickets had indeed sold-out as the place was jam packed with fashion lovers.

Montreal through the eyes of journalist Alexandra Forbes

I fell upon another cool blogger which happens to be a journalist. Her name is Alexandra Forbes and she actually uses the same blogspot.com website as me. She's been blogging for over a while so she had lots of time to accumulate significant amount of information about Montreal. She's definitely worth checking out, one might discover a couple of things about the city.

lovin' Barroco Restaurant

Barroco Restaurant is a really cool and a really good restaurant in the Old-Port Montreal on St-Paul street. There's a few reasons why I like it and number one is the look and feel it has the moment you walk in, which is so unique and refreshing. It's a super small restaurant, but the vibe is simply amazing, a mix of loungy-clubby and wonderful crowd...every single time. The bar is possibly the main focus of the room, its an over-size bar for the small place but has a great raw and rusty feel to it, and the bartenders truly make outstanding drinks, I have yet to be disappointed about a drink. Finally, the food, which simply you have to taste, my favourite is the tuna tartar and the beef ribs. Just go and taste the food, you'll love it.

Awesome Montreal photography

I found by pure accident this amazing photographer who takes very creative photographs but who also has interesting technicalities involved while modifying them. I have no knowledge in photography, but he explains everything he does on his official website which you can find the link to here. I uploaded two of his pictures which you can see below...how cool is that ! Love the colors, I think there might be some painting involved, at least there is in other of his pictures.

The first picture you see is that of Crescent street, the other I believe to be downtown Montreal but I am not sure. Alexandre, the artist is from Russia but currently lives in France and has dozen other pictures...amazing work !. Alexandre Paskanoi Photography.
